Where it all began. . .
FROM TIMBER TO GO
Turns out, changing the plan was the right move.
Timber To Turquoise was where it all started.
It was my idea—a place to turn my love of creating into something real. I spent months building the website, reworking the details, changing things I probably didn't need to change, and finally getting everything polished and ready to launch.
I was so close to hitting that launch button.
Then Harley came to me with a vision of her own.
Harley is my stepdaughter, and I've known her since she was ten. I've had a front-row seat watching her grow into the loud, creative, occasionally-a-little-too-much, but incredibly sweet young woman she is today.
She's been making press-on nails since her sophomore year of high school—creating them for herself, friends, and family. Now, at 18, she's ready to see if she can turn something she loves doing into a business of her own.
But starting a business at 18 is a lot.
Harley has the creativity. She has the ideas. What she's still learning is everything that comes with turning an idea into an actual business.
So, naturally, she came to me.
As I helped her figure things out, something unexpected happened. I started looking at everything I'd already built with Timber To Turquoise in a new light.
I had spent months figuring out how to take an idea in my head and turn it into something real. Now I was watching Harley standing at the very beginning of that same process.
And I started thinking...
Why couldn't there be room for both of us?
I've always believed in sharing knowledge, opening doors, and providing the stepping stones that help others rise right alongside you.
I wanted Harley to see that her ideas were worth taking seriously.
So instead of starting over, we decided to make room.
And that's where Gracefully Outlawed was born.
A name big enough for both of us. A place for my jewelry and Harley's nails. A brand built around creativity, confidence, and having the nerve to do something that feels like you.
What started as one person's idea became something bigger because we decided to build it together.
Timber To Turquoise was where I started.
Gracefully Outlawed is where we're going.
And this time, we're going together.
